Cyclone Chitrang makes landfall in Bangladesh with 90 km/h cyclonic winds… 7 people reported dead

Chitrang originated in the Bay of Bengal Storm, with 90 km/h cyclonic winds made landfall in Bangladesh last night. In this, 5 people died.

A deep depression over the Central East Bay of Bengal strengthened into a severe storm yesterday. Named as Chitrang, the storm was gradually moving north-northeast.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has asked the people of her state not to come out of their homes due to the storm. Similarly, precautionary measures were also taken up in various states. In this case, Cyclone Chitrang made landfall between Dingona and Sandwip in Bangladesh between 9.30 pm and 11.30 pm IST near Parisal area.
